Caring for You Swarovski Pearls

When you’ve invested in luxurious Swarovski pearls, it’s important to know how to properly take care of them. With the right care and maintenance, you can ensure your pearls look brand new for years to come.

Although Swarovski pearls are synthetic, they still require some level of maintenance. Here, you’ll discover some of the best ways to care for your pearls to protect them against daily wear and tear.

Clean the pearls after each use

Ideally, you’ll want to clean your Swarovski pearls every time you’ve worn them. Although this isn’t essential, it will help to keep them looking their best. This is because it’s possible your bod oils can transfer onto the pearls, which in time will cause them to lose their sparkle.

You’ll need to careful when cleaning them as pearls are generally more delicate than other types of stones and crystals. All you’ll need is a soft cloth, a mild detergent and warm water. Simply give the pearls a gentle wipe over and use an additional dry soft cloth to dry them.

Ensure you store them separately

When you’re not wearing them, you’re going to need to make sure your pearls are stored separately from other jewellery. This will prevent them getting scratched or damaged if they knock or rub into other materials. If you’re looking after loose pearls, it’s best to store them in a soft bag. Otherwise, Swarovski pearl jewellery should be stored separately in different compartments to other jewellery.

Avoid using harsh cleaners

It’s really important to avoid using harsh cleaners on the Swarovski pearls. Even though they’re constructed to a very high standard, they will become damaged if exposed to harsh chemicals. So, when cleaning them, avoid standard jewellery cleaner. Instead, follow the mild detergent cleaning tip.

Provided you clean them frequently enough, you shouldn’t need to use harsh cleaners. They should remain relatively clean if you give them a daily wipe over. If you do use a harsh cleaner, it could cause the surface of the pearl to corrode away, eliminating the sparkle and ultimately ruining the pearl.

As you can see, it’s pretty simple to keep your Swarovski pearls clean and protected. It only takes a few minutes of maintenance each day to ensure your pearls last as long as possible.
